Supporting Baltimore County Nonprofits: Upcoming Fundraising Events

Are you looking for ways to support a Baltimore County nonprofit organization? If so, you may be interested in attending one of their upcoming fundraising events. The Foundation organizes several events throughout the year, such as A Toast Among Ghosts and The BIG Give, to help support their mission of providing a superior public library system in Baltimore County. Donor-only events, such as meetings with authors, special receptions and behind-the-scenes visits, are also available to show gratitude for their generosity. On Saturday, June 17th, BARCS Crawl will be held in Halethorpe, Maryland.

This event will include the exclusive launch of this year's collaborative beer, a refreshing Belgian-style Citrus witbier beer with 5.2% alcoholic alcohol, made with Citra hops, orange peel, white pepper, coriander, lemon and orange juice. Beer will be available in barrels and in packs of four 16 oz cans, and a significant part of all beer sales will be donated to BARCS. On Friday, June 23rd, BARCS Crab Feast will take place at Pet Valu in the Southside Market shopping center in south Baltimore. Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bring a photo ID and proof of address to adopt. On Sunday, May 7th from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Heavy Seas Beer and BARCS will jointly organize a “party you can't miss” in the recently renovated tavern of the former. The event will include the exclusive launch of this year's collaborative beer and a portion of all beer sales will be donated to BARCS.

You can also purchase a ticket in the name of a homeless dog or cat at their shelter. The works can be collected at any time after the exhibition or each artist can leave them hanging until they are sold or until Blue Pit BBQ needs space on the wall. Blue Pit BBQ will not charge any fees but for all the works sold through them they will add and collect additional sales taxes to be paid with their monthly sales tax. You can choose to have all sales made through you (in which case you will be responsible for coordinating them with the buyer) or you can choose to have Blue Pit BBQ accept payment for the sale, add sales tax, deduct and donate to BARCS on behalf of the show and give you a check for the rest. Blue Pit BBQ will provide personal sales reports to each artist every month or within 48 hours if requested. Visit Flavor Cupcakery in Bel Air anytime during regular business hours and mention BARCS at checkout.

A portion of the profits will be used for donations from the BarcstOberfest. The money raised will help provide medical care, shelter and crucial supplies for animals in need in Baltimore.
