North America's premier cartooning and comic arts festival will be held at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, featuring over 400 artists and publishers.

According to the SPX website, "In its thirteenth year SPX now serves as the preeminent showcase for the exhibition of independent comic books and the discovery of new creative talent." SPX will also feature The Ignatz Award for outstanding achievement in comics and cartooning. All proceeds benefit the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.
