ESWA June Program Will Tighten Your Focus

At the June meeting of the Eastern Shore Writers Association, award-winning author Kate Blackwell will speak on "When Less is More: Fiction and the Art of Compression." The meeting will be on Saturday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cambridge Yacht Club, 1 Mill Street, Cambridge, Maryland.

Blackwell is a Featured Writer in the current Delmarva Review. She has taught creative writing for over 14 years in the Washington, D.C. area, and at The Writer's Center in Bethesda. Blackwell's stories have been published in numerous literary journals. She graduated from Wellesley College and earned an MA in English literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She worked as a reporter at the Raleigh News & Observer and editorial writer for the Greensboro Daily News, then moved to Washington, DC, where she was a freelance writer and editor and co-authored several nonfiction books before turning full-time to fiction. Visit Kate's website for more information.

June is also the annual elections meeting for new officers of the Eastern Shore Writers Association. An optional lunch follows the presentation, allowing time for networking among writers and guests.
